At just the right moment, a brush stroke of sunlight suddenly changes the way an ordinary everyday, object, person, or place are illuminated. On the other side of that brush where there is no sun, the contrast of shadows sculpts depth and texture on all it touches. What is it that attracts us to an image and engages our interest and emotions so fully with it's secret essence? How is it that art draws us with invisible threads to a connection with something inside of us that we've always known and felt... but only recognize after we have seen it?

As a young child I was very drawn towards creativity, but like so many other children, especially back in those times, we were prodded by well-meaning parents into the pursuit of the practical, also known as, money-making skills. So finally, in my advanced years, I am devoting some time to use what I have learned in life to recapture the place where the creative spirit of my childhood was left behind. My creative growth requires as much unlearning of my goal oriented, perfectionistic ways, as it does in my learning to recognize when my heart feels that the moment is right. This is the time when creativity and skills blend harmoniously and the muse is present.

When I saw your Luminescent Botanicals at a show, I fell in love with them immediately.
Somehow the light reflexed from the images reminds me of the lighting in a Vermeer painting.
The quality of your work is so special.
The flowers against a black background make the colors of your work sings with LIFE.
Looking forward to see where you go from here.

I would love to see the images incorporated into furniture. I can see a black glass or metal coffee top table with your image on it.
See you at Art@ the Source.

Thank you so much Nick for your comments. The natural beauty and awesome wonder of nature is truly such a joy to make visible. Inspiring others and being inspired by others helps us all to feel connected to one another and to life on this planet. Thank you for taking the time to write.

Just love your work Peter. The style of photography you produce is just about exactly what I find totally appealling. I look to other photographers for inspiration to get me out there and see the World as they do. You have certainly stimulated me. Today you introduced me to the concept of ScanArt. So simple, novel, and beautiful.

I also love the images which include texture such as rust and peeling paint.

Thank you.
